An Urgent Requirement at Yalova Shipyards
Earlier this week, we completed an urgent delivery of anchors and anchor chains to a vessel undergoing drydock repairs in Yalova.
Discussions began on Thursday and continued throughout Friday and the weekend while the vessel and shipyard assessed the extent of the required replacements. Initially, the focus was on determining the number of chain lengths to be renewed. As the inspection progressed, however, it became clear that both anchors also needed to be replaced.
Thanks to our extensive stock and operational flexibility, we were prepared for every possible scenario.
Preparing Before the Order Arrived
While commercial and technical discussions were still ongoing, our team began identifying and preparing the required products for loading. Based on the vessel’s schedule, we anticipated that immediate delivery would be required once the final scope was confirmed.
The official order was received on Sunday afternoon. By that time, the products had already been prepared, and our logistics team had arranged for the trucks to arrive at our warehouse early on Monday morning.
This proactive approach allowed loading and delivery operations to begin without losing valuable time.
Communication Matters in Critical Operations
The vessel’s drydock period was close to completion, and the new anchors and chains had to be delivered before the vessel was refloated. Any delay could have disrupted the shipyard schedule and resulted in considerable additional costs.
We understood the pressure our customer was facing. Therefore, we maintained continuous communication throughout the operation, providing detailed updates at every stage so that the customer could coordinate effectively with the vessel and shipyard.
In urgent operations, supplying the correct products is only part of the solution. Clear communication, accurate planning and reliable execution are equally important.
